Since 2021, every overseas player joining an English club needs a Governing Body Endorsement from the FA. The decision runs on points, and a deal can stall on a few of them.
The FA scores a player on international appearances, minutes at club level, the strength of the league he plays in, and how far his club went in league and continental competition. Players who reach 15 points qualify automatically. Players on 10 to 14 points can go before the Exceptions Panel.
We run the numbers on your target from public match data before you open talks, tell you which route he is on, and build the case with you if he needs the panel.
